ABOUT DR. AMALESWARAN ANBARASAN

MD (USM), MMed (Ortho) (USM), Fellowship in Upper Limb & Microsurgery (Malaysia), Fellowship in Hand Surgery (Japan & UK)

Dr. Amaleswaran Anbarasan, affectionately known as Dr. Amal, is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a deep-rooted passion for hand, upper limb, and microsurgery. A proud native of Sitiawan, Perak, Dr. Amal began his journey in medicine with a strong academic foundation at Anglo Chinese School (ACS) Sitiawan, before pursuing his medical degree at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

His early career saw him serve as a house officer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, one of the busiest public hospitals in East Malaysia. His commitment and interest in orthopaedics quickly led him to become a Medical Officer in the Orthopaedics Department at the same institution, where he gained critical hands-on experience managing trauma and musculoskeletal cases.

Driven by a passion for improving patient outcomes through surgical excellence, Dr. Amal pursued his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from USM, graduating in 2015. During this time, he developed a special interest in hand and upper limb conditions — intricate areas that require precision, microsurgical expertise, and a deep understanding of human function.
